Very relaxing experience there. Traditional hotel in a pretty nice area near to the Odawara station which is a JR station, and Pax Yoshino. A wide array of options for breakfast, nice cereals and fruit.
Not very friendly staff!

I loved the large Japanese-style room overlooking the river, and the breakfast buffet offered an very nice variety of options, ensuring there was something for everyone. Plus, the location was a pleasant stroll into town, filled with dining choices.
One downside was that the karaoke rooms incurred an extra fee, surprising.

The massage service in your own room. There were also all sorts of massage chairs in the public bath area of the hotel.
The Aston my sister and I chose this hotel was because we thought the private bath was supposed to be an onsen private bath in your own room ( which some ryokans have)... Instead, it was a western bathtub in your own room. We chose to use the public bath in the hotel, which was much better.

Charming Experience with Room for Improvement
Enjoyed the serene river view from our room and the relaxing atmosphere . Lighting in the room felt inadequate was nice. For better logistics, consider taking the free shuttle service to avoid the uphill walk from the train station.

Warm and friendly reception. Only can check in after 2pm. We were showed to the room and showed the way to wear yukata. The Japanese dinner was served in the room. Very....very nice. Just need to get a bottle of wine from the shop. Is good to go. The hotel don't have the curfew like mentioned here. (Told by the reception, so don't get put off). Also, the hotel don't strip search guest for tattoos. I have a tattoo and have no problem using public hot spring. The hotel rooms are amazingly done and located by the stream. I've also have never bow so much in any hotel. The staff here is just amazing.
We were having a weekend off without gadgets. No problem for us. So, if you can't cope without data......hehe....wi-fi is extremely slow even for phone usage.

Onsen Excellent service from hotel staff Free shuttle bus from hotel to Hakone-Yumoto station
1)Dinner. (More dining options should be made available to cater to foreigners) 2)Too expensive considering the services/type of food provided. Not worth the money. 3)No free shuttle bus from Hakone-Yumoto station to hotel

English speaking staff made life a lot easier, given my very poor Japanese and they were utterly charming. The traditional Japanese tatami room was very nice with a lovely view onto a forest and river. The onsen was a wonderful experience. A shuttle bus from the station takes 5 mins....perfect. Food served in individual tatami rooms was excellent. Really good value for money.
Nothing...a great place.

Cheap
15mins walking distance from station, the way quite far especially during snowing season. I booked the half board package but dinner is not that value for money. Lots of food in table but they are just not fresh at all and not tasty as well!!
